Erikson himself has painted a K'Chain Che'Malle hunter so it must be canonical but I feel like the portrayals of the race aren't convincing, largely because of the complete lack of space for large brains. Every depiction I've seen of their heads goes with a pretty standard mid-size theropod look. Yet the K'Chain Che'Malle stand in relation to a Dilophosaurus, or an ostrich for that matter, as we do to proconsul, or a lemur (yes, I know the KCCM aren't descended from dinosaurs, being literary constructs and all, but dinos sure seem to be what we're looking at). Basically, I think the heads are too small. It would make sense for the KCCM to have a large forebrain, or something equivalent.

Which is better and why?
The Prologue synopsis for Memories of Ice (https://malazan.fandom.com/wiki/Memories_of_Ice/Prologue) directly references NightChill as the third Elder God and Togg as the wolf whilst the book does not. So an upcoming twist has already been spoilt before the book has even started proper?? Wonderful.
