Lady Aegis was the lady of House Haran, an outlying Tiste estate of Kurald Galain inclined to isolation. She was tall and attractive in a regal fashion, somewhat diminished by her obvious efforts to maintain that regal air and spoke in a clipped manner which hinted at impatience and contempt.[1]
In Fall of Light[]
Lady Aegis had set herself in opposition to Hish Tulla's plans to unite the Houses in the First Son's absence. She maintained that the Tiste civil war was between two opposing religious factions and that the nobility had nothing to do with it. A compromise could be reached. Vanut Degalla alluded that Aegis had not been happy with Andarist's choice of bride, possibly coveting the position for herself, and that she was more than happy with the schism that had grown between the two brothers.[2]
