In Midnight Tides
Finadd Arlidas declared Brous' independence of Letheras after King Ezgara Diskanar's half-hearted response to the Tiste Edur invasion. The Finadd was determined to fight the invaders and sought to recruit anyone he could to his side. He placed Urger in charge of removing the wards that bound a creature in one of the village's ancient and partially buried tombs in order to bind it to their side against the Edur.
Before the job was done, Iron Bars and his Crimson Guardsmen entered the village guided by Acquitor Seren Pedac. The Finadd attempted to forcibly recruit the mercenaries, thinking the garrison's greater number of soldiers gave him the upperhand. But the Finadd was dissuaded by Urger, still filthy with dirt from the tomb. He warned Arlidas that Corlo was a mage who could "pluck your brain out and drop it in a cauldron of boiling oil". Corlo, in turn sent Urger running back to the barrow when he noted its occupant was on the verge of release. Arlidas angrily backed down and led his soldiers after Urger.
The Edur, led by Emperor Rhulad Sengar and his brothers, later went to Brous after learning a demon of some sort had been freed there. They found the entire village slaughtered and encountered the Forkrul Assail, Serenity. Presumably, Arlidas was amongst those killed.
