Monobook at max width
During the theme redesign a while back I put a limit on how wide the page can get in monobook, which you can see in my image, because it was just getting too ridiculous. I don't think it is too much of a problem if there is some extension of images on the left and right, but, for example, take a look at the Toll the Hounds section, that left image extends too far, disrupting the page flow. For pictures on the right side it is only a problem if an entire image is pushed below the text and into the next section.

I think this is the way to do it. Section title, template start, images (if any), section text (with extra images if any), template close, empty line, next section title.
