Brenoch was a tomb robber and an old friend of Stillwater.[1]
In The God is Not Willing[]
Stillwater recalled how she and Brenoch had once attempted to loot a witch's barrow only to find it had already been picked over by thieves. While Brenoch kicked through the rubbish at one end, Stillwater searched the open sarcophagus and discovered a pair of coins still hidden under the linen covering the corpse's eyes. She hid the coins from her fellow thief, who soon grew suspicious and badgered her into revealing them. He grew angry, jealous, and avaricious. Later she was forced to kill him for stealing the coins despite his protestations of innocence. Brenoch joined the long list of Stillwater's old friends she had once had.[1]
