Bugg's Construction was a new engineering and construction company in Letheras that was founded by Bugg as a front for Tehol Beddict. It worked outside the city's guild system and hired blacklisted labourers at below the standard wage.[1][2]

In Midnight Tides[]

The activities of Bugg's Construction were part of Tehol's plan to crash the Letherii economy. Bugg used his knowledge of construction techniques to secure the contract for shoring up the Eternal Domicile, which was slowly sinking into the clay beneath it.[2][3] Royal Engineer Grum had been impressed by a similar project performed by the company on several warehouses secretly owned by Tehol.[4] Once work began on the new palace, the company's shares in the Merchant Tolls sold at a brisk pace. Bugg kept a controlling interest while fraudulently selling four thousand and twenty-two percent of the shares.[5] The work on the Eternal Domicile was completed successfully, although the tunnels under the Fifth Wing were surprisingly chilly.[6]

The company also acquired dilapidated structures which could be renovated into palatial mansions for a tidy profit.[7]

In Reaper's Gale[]

Reputation established, Bugg borrowed heavily upon Tehol's orders and borrowed even more money to settle these debts, creating an artificial shortage of coinage. He then proceeded to flood the market with the accumulated coin, crashing the Letherii economy.
