Genabackis
The Catlin River was located in the eastern region of the continent of Genabackis. Near its banks lay the city of Capustan, and further west the city of Saltoan.
During the spring, it flooded its banks, often washing out the trader road between Saltoan and Capustan.[1]

After the Jaghut Tyrant Raest was released from captivity by the Malazan Empire in 1164 BS, he destroyed a key bridge where the trader road crossed the river. Merchant traffic was backed up in all directions as wagons braved the muddy ford nearby.[2][3][4]
