The young woman usually known as the Daughter of Dassem Ultor was not actually named in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. She was described as being slight, frail, and of having dark-skin.[1]
In Deadhouse Gates
Fiddler, Crokus Younghand, Apsalar, Icarium, Mappo Runt, and Iskaral Pust discovered her body in Tremorlor, the Azath House in Raraku. Found dressed in the underclothing usually worn under armour - which was absent - her body was crisscrossed with "vicious wounds". She lay at the base of one of Tremorlor's tower stairs, where she 'looked' to have been placed in the recent past. Apsalar recognized her from Cotillion's mortal memories of the girl he had thought of as Dassem's daughter. Apsalar went on to say that Dassem had recovered her after Hood was "done using her" and had brought her to Tremorlor. Because of this, Dassem - years before - had permanently broken his vow to Hood, who Dassem had once served.[2]
