Dreshen Harad 'Ul was a captain and aide to Malazan Ambassador Aragan in Darujhistan. He was one of the younger sons of one of the noble houses of Unta.[1] He was highly competent at his job which consisted mainly of clerical duties for the ambassador. He was not used to combat and felt nauseous at the sight of dead bodies.[2]

Dreshen traveled with Aragan to the foothills of the Moranth Mountains and found that the Seguleh had attacked and, for all practical purposes, neutralized the Rhivi as a fighting force. He then accompanied Aragan to the site of the battle between the Seguleh and the Malazans, and witnessed the Moranth bomb the Seguleh.[3]
