Eemlee (also 'Eeemlee') was the name given to his pet slow-worm by the Nightmarian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Farrog, Ophal D'Neeth Flatroq.[1] It was not mentioned whether the Ambassador had found Eemlee in Farrog, or had instead brought the slow-worm with him when he came from Nightmaria.
Eemlee lived in the Nightmarian Embassy along with the Ambassador. The slow-worm was roughly the size of the average dog but, having no legs (being worm-like in form), Eemlee's means of locomotion was a slow "slithering". It had no eyes in its blunt head, but instead possessed some way of sensing the locations of objects and people in its surroundings. Eemlee seemingly felt something like affection for familiar individuals, accepting pats upon its slimy head and "twitching its knobby tail" when so petted. The slow-worm apparently could understand commands, and - for example - would respond appropriately when the Ambassador said with a gesture, "Eemlee...come!"[1] Its body produced secretions that could stain clothing.[1]
The ambassador enjoyed the worm's company, as unlike the others of the embassy staff, Eemlee never complained.[2]
In The Fiends of Nightmaria[]
When Nightmaria went to war with Farrog and the city was left a burning ruin by Bauchelain and Korbal Broach's flight, Ophal D'Neeth Flatroq closed the embassy and left for home with his staff--Beetle Praata and Puny Sploor. The ambassador was attached enough to the slow-worm to take Eemlee with him, but when it died on the road, he ate it.[2]
