Faradan Sort is a captain in the Malaz 14th Army. After the Last Siege of Y'Ghatan, she stayed behind with Sinn and searched for survivors while the rest of the army continued on its way to rendezvous with Admiral Nok on the north coast. She was considered a deserter and her lieutenant, Madan Tul'rada, was promoted to Captain and assumed command of her company.
When Sort and the survivors caught up to the Bonehunters, she was restored to the 9th Company's command.
There is some suggestion that Sort was among the defenders of the Stormwall, but she denies it.
