Gacharge Hadlorn Who Waits was once an inhabitant of 'Reach of Woe', a community of wreckers on a so called "wreckers' coast".[1][2]
Gacharge Hadlorn was locally famous for (perhaps) being behind the Reach of Woe villagers' decision (or, more probably, their justification to themselves) to change their livelihood from fishing in their dangerous coastal waters to, instead, devote themselves to being successful wreckers - which was far safer, for them at least, if not for passing ships.[3]
