Garell was the name of the House of the ruling family of the Napan Isles.[1]

In Deadhouse Landing[]

The royal House of Garell, in the days before the formation of the Malazan Empire, was composed of Prince Tarel and his older sister, Princess Sureth. Upon the death of their father — the previous king — a civil war broke out between the Garell siblings for control of the Napan Isles. It was felt by Sureth's adherents that she possessed the "Garell House strength" while the "damned greedy" Tarel did not.[2]

In Kellanved's Reach[]

The Garell family owned a villa that had been built on the nearby Rueth Isle.[3]
