Although the Jaghut were a peaceful race, every so often one of them would break from this mould.[1] These individuals were known as Jaghut Tyrants for their cruel use of other races as slaves. The Imass were tricked into believing one of these Tyrants was a god, leading them to worship him. When it was discovered that he was not, in fact, a god, the Imass were so incensed they began their crusade to rid the world of all Jaghut in order to prevent the arising of another Jaghut Tyrant. The Jaghut Wars led to the creation of the T'lan Imass in the Ritual of Tellann.

Onos T'oolan claimed a Jaghut Tyrant was capable of destroying a continent or enslaving all those living on it. A Tyrant paired with a Bonecaster would challenge the gods and kill most of them.[2]

Known Tyrants[]

In Reaper's Gale[]

Hedge opined that the Jaghut Wars were a backwards kind of vengeance where the Imass had hurt themselves more than their proclaimed enemy ever had. There had only been a few Jaghut Tyrants, and those had quickly earned the wrath of their kin before any T'lan Imass army arrived. When the Jaghut used ice against the Imass, the Imass underwent the Ritual of Tellann to make their hearts colder and more lifeless than any glacier.[3]
