Jamaer was the faithful servant of Magistrate Ehrlann of the Ruling Council of Magistrates in Li Heng for over thirty years.[1] He followed Ehrlann around the city holding an umbrella to shade his master from the sun and acted as his scribe while in the Council chamber.

Jamaer endured his servitude to the unlikable Ehrlann until the magistrate's arrest at the hands of provisional High Fist Storo Matash. When Ehrlann shouted at Jamaer for assistance, Jamaer made sure to dutifully scribe his pleas for the record. Then he handed Ehrlann the umbrella he had been forced to carry for all those years.[2]
