Kurald Emurlahn is the Elder warren of Shadow and ancient home of the Tiste Edur. The realm was shattered a long time before the the series begins. Though generally inaccessible to humans, the Elder warren is said to be riven through with the human warren of shadow, Rashan. It is here that Apsalar freed the two Soletaken mischief makers Telorast and Curdle.

Egdewalker is an ancient inhabitant of the realm who also seeks to keep mundane battles from 'bleeding in'.
