Lorkal was a tall and rangy woman with long sandy hair who served as a soldier for Dernan the Wolf's army of bandits.[1]

Lorkal was among the group of advance soldiers who kept an eye on the mountain pass that led up to the town where Dernan and his army resided. When Lo and Sall slaughtered the entire group, she saved herself by throwing her weapon down and capitulating, thus making herself a non-enemy to the Seguleh, who never attacked an unarmed person. She had heard of them before and had known about the Seguleh and their ways.[2]
Sall asked her to go to her people, especially Dernan, and convince him to supply them with necessities so that they could continue their journey. Lorkal almost refused because she knew Dernan wouldn't listen, nevertheless she agreed to try because she didn't want to have their blood on her conscience, since she knew the two Seguleh could easily slaughter the entire army.[3]
She never returned, and when Lo and Sall pressed on, they were challenged by the army and the Seguleh slaughtered everyone. Yusek found Lorkal's body among the pile of bodies; she had been denounced as a traitor and tortured by Dernan before being killed.[4]
