The Marquessa of Fedal was a member of the Fedal family that had once ruled Itko Kan before the rise of the Chulalorn dynasty.[1] She was a heavy-set woman with thick black brows who wore her long black hair piled high on her head in a complicated arrangement and favoured loose flowing silk robes.[2]
Her family's colours were gold and black.[1]
In Kellanved's Reach[]
The ruling Fedal family allied with Dal Hon to overthrow and kidnap the child king Chulalorn the Fourth and sack the royal palace. Leoto, the Kan of family Kan, perished in the fighting along with the king's guardian Sword-Dancers. The Marquessa of Fedal accompanied her troops into the palace throne room where she was discovered by Iko. The former sword-dancer recognised the Marquessa from official functions, but the noble did not recognise the woman in common dress as a sword-dancer. When Iko demanded to know the location of the king, the Marquessa ordered her troops to kill the strange woman. Iko cut through the Fedal family troops and elite Dal Hon infantry with her borrowed whipsword before the disbelieving Marquessa. The outraged noble squeeked that Iko could not kill her before the sword-dancer cut her throat and escaped the city.[3]
