The North Coast Tower was a massively walled Letherii watchtower overlooking the Nepah Sea on the northern coast of the Reach peninsula. A broad, raised road led two and a third leagues due south to the fortified city of Fent Reach.[1]

From the wall skirting the tower, Atri-Preda Yan Tovis of Fent Reach got her first look at an invading naval force of Tiste Edur. She and her Finadd estimated a fleet of eight or nine hundred K'orthan raiding vessels and another five hundred oversized transport vessels. The Atri-Preda calculated that the vessels carried as many as three hundred thousand Edur. She also noted the dark presence under the sea of the ocean spirit that had destroyed Trate's waterfront.[2]
