The Orbal garrison was a Malazan frontier detachment based in Orbal. It was commanded by Minala's husband Tras.[1]

During the Whirlwind Rebellion the Malazan garrison was betrayed by Korbolo Dom's Whirlwind Legion, former Malazan soldiers turned renegade. They rode into the town as allies before turning on the garrison and slaying its commander. Only Keneb and his family appeared to escape due to the loyalty of their Tithansi servants.[2]
