Orman was an old Jourilan pilgrim, preacher, and servant of the Priestess. He spread the word of her new faith which embraced life and rejected death. This made him a heretic in the eyes of the Jourilan Empire whose patron goddess was the Lady.[1]

He was tall and sickly-thin with dirty grey hair and an uneven skull.[2][3] He wore dusty robes and carried a staff.[4]

In Stonewielder[]

Orman and a group of thirsty pilgrims followed the Priestess' directions to the home of Ivanr, former Grand Champion of the Jourilan Imperial Games. A known heretic asking and receiving water from Ivanr was enough to condemn the former champion in the eyes of the Imperial authorities. A troop of cavalry came to his home in an attempt to execute him, driving Ivanr into the arms of the rebellious Jourilan Army of Reform.[5][6]

Orman saw Ivanr once again amongst the Reform Army after the Priestess had been taken captive by the Imperials. The pilgrim informed Ivanr that her last message was to name Ivanr as her disciple and true heir. This led many people of Jourilan to begin denying the authority of the Lady in Ivanr's name.[7]

As the Reform Army approached the city of Ring, Orman revealed that his efforts had helped seed the city with followers of the Priestess.[8] These same followers helped defeat Prince Ranur when the Imperials attacked the Reform Army outside of the city. Afterwards, Orman attempted to follow Ivanr's wishes and prevent the wholesale massacre of the followers of the Lady within Ring.[9]
