Pellan was a Falari Heavy infantry sergeant in the Malaz 4th Army.[1]
In Return of the Crimson Guard[]
During the Malazan civil war, Pellan accompanied Empress Laseen and the Malaz 4th Army to Li Heng to confront the rebellious Talian League. After the League was broken the Malazans confronted the Crimson Guard. Just as it seemed the battle had been won, a ship appeared from a Warren and crashed onto the battlefield. Pellan's unit was left stranded from the rest of the army when one of the ship's occupants, Yathengar, opened a rent into Chaos.[2]
