Rhizan were squirrel-sized winged reptiles that were very common on the Seven Cities continent. The term 'rhizan' came from the Seven Cities (Bisbrha and Debrahl) language.[1] Their wings were retractable and their skin was mottled with ochre colouring.[2]
Mainly active at night, they were insectivores who fed on Capemoths and Bloodflies.[3][4][5] They in turn were preyed upon by Bhok'arala.[6] During the day, they huddled in groups clinging to shaded surfaces.[2]
It seemed likely that they were the same creatures as the rhinazan found in the wildlands of eastern Lether. These weasel-sized flying lizards ate flying insects, termites, and ticks with their serrated jaws.[7][8][9]
