Rise Herat was the court historian of Kharkanas. He considered himself a poor teacher and historian, uninterested in details or analysis and incapable of stringing together a coherent lecture.[1] He often sought out the solitude of the Citadel's tower to watch the city from above even as he considered which side throw himself from.[2]
He was the author of the history (or possibly memoir) Throne, Sceptre and Crown which spanned at least eleven volumes.[3]
