Snakebelt Battalion was a battalion of the Letherii Army. The battalion had its own mage cadre with Enedictal as its commander.[1]
In Midnight Tides[]
At the beginning of hostilities between the Tiste Edur and the Kingdom of Lether, the Snakebelt Battalion was stationed in the city of Awl.[2] Enedictal left the battalion for a time with his mage cadre to join fellow mages, Nekal Bara and Arahathan, at Kraig's Landing to launch a pre-emptive strike on the Edur villages.[3] Afterwards, Enedictal and his cadre returned to Awl.[4]
After the fall of Trate and the shattering of the Letherii armies at the Battle of High Fort, the Snakebelt Battalion was hastily recalled as part of a concentration of forces to defend Letheras from the approaching Edur armies.[5] They were joined by the Riven Brigade and the Crimson Rampant Brigade at Dissent.[6]
At the Battle of Brans Keep, the Battalion was arrayed on the Letherii left flank between the Crimson Rampant Brigade and the Riven Brigade facing the armies of Emperor Rhulad Sengar and Fear Sengar.[7] The battle commenced with devastating sorcery on both sides. Warlock King Hannan Mosag's enormous columns of shrieking wind and dust ran rampant through the Letherii left and centre destroying virtually the entire battalion.[8]
