The Tasse Hills were a forbidding range located in the far southwest of the lands once ruled by the First Empire on the Seven Cities subcontinent. They were the home of the extinct Tasse people.[1] The region's ruined structures and signs of irrigated terraced agriculture indicated a more technologically advanced society had once lived there.[1]
Two months before the fall of the Crippled God Gral warriors from the Karasch Legion led by Sidilack had been sent to subjugate the Tasse. They found only a handful of pathetic survivors and slew them but for a two- or three-year-old girl who was claimed by an unnamed god and seven terrible hounds.[1]
