In her speech to the Bonehunters, Adjunct Tavore Paran recalled the events of a civil war on Theft. A warlord destroyed a captured rival’s army by ordering the removal of the index finger from each soldier’s weapon hand. The twelve thousand maimed and useless soldiers were then sent back to the warlord’s rival to feed and to swallow the bitter taste of defeat.[1]
