Til'Aras Benok, sometimes spelled Til'aras Benok, was a T'lan Imass Bonecaster of the Bentract.[1] His Soletaken form was a large bear with long legs, a vestigial tail, black and brown hair, and a flattened snout.[2]

He wore rotted clothes.[3]

In Reaper's Gale[]

Til'Aras Benok, clan chief Hostille Rator, and the Bonecaster Gr'istanas Ish'ilm, were on the way to the Second Gathering called by Silverfox when they heard the pleas for help from a failing Bentract Bonecaster. Unable to ignore the pain in her voice, they followed her call to the Refugium even if it meant losing their chance at their own final rest.[4]

They were amazed and appalled to discover a world of living Bentract Imass. When they crossed its boundaries, they too were restored to life and the experience left them shaken. The Imass chief, Ulshun Pral, was unknown to them and they contemplated usurpation of the tribe, but the presence of Rud Elalle, the Soletaken Eleint, terrified them.[5] Still, they understood the Refugium was only a trapped and dying memory that could not last. But when Onrack T'emlava and Trull Sengar swore they would spend their lives to defend it, Hostille Rator and the Bonecasters were humbled and declared they would defend the Refugium as well.[6]

Anticipating violence from those coming to the Refugium seeking Scabandari's Finnest, Rud fled with the Bentract into the hills, and Hostille Rator and the two Bonecasters joined them. They could hear the clash of Quick Ben and Hedge against Menandore, Sukul Ankhadu, and Sheltatha Lore, and the clan chief sensed the surviving Soletaken Eleint now hunted for Rud. He bade the young man take his people to safety in a ravine while he and the Bonecasters defended the narrow defile where she would have to assume her normal form. The clan chief and his companions had initially come to the Refugium with chaos in their hearts, but now they found that Rud, Ulshun Pral, and the Refugium's Imass "please us".[7]

Sukul Ankhadu found Hostille Rator guarding the narrow passage and crushed his throat before he could harm her. He died as a mortal man with a smile on his lips. Til'Aras Benok and Gr'istanas Ish'ilm veered into their bear forms and began tearing her apart. The goddess exploded Gr'istanas Ish'ilm's head with her magic before Til'Aras Benik finally killed her. But the Bonecaster quickly succumbed to his own wounds.[8]
