Tiny Chanter was the captain of the Unreasoning Vengeance. A huge, massively muscled man, he was the eldest of his siblings and therefore their leader. The Chanter family appeared to have Tarthenal or Jaghut blood in their family line, and Tiny may have had tusks like several of his kin.[1][2] It was rumored that Tiny's sire may have been a cave bear his mother met while sheltering from a storm.[3]

Tiny carried a massive two handed weapon that was a crescent-bladed axe on one end and a studded mace on the other. The mace was painted with the word "SATRE" because Tiny was a poor speller.[4]

He claimed to possess a talent for sorcery, saying he was a necromancer, Jhistal, Demidrek, and High Mage though he rarely displayed any magical ability.[5] He once demonstrated his power to doubters by killing a woman with a gesture, turning her into a zombie.[6]

Tiny was likely a virgin and was easily flustered by talk of "the pinky stuff." He was determined to see his sister Relish remain a virgin as he promised his mother and father, but saw no reason to be concerned by his sister's visits to female prostitutes.[7][8]

Tiny often referred to himself in the third person.

Tiny had small, red rimmed, leaky eyes, a snubbed nose, and tiny teeth. His giant muscles were misaligned on his bear-like frame and his hair sprouted from unlikely places.[9] He wore a bear skin.[10]

In The Lees of Laughter's EndEdit

Tiny Chanter's ship pursued Captain Sater and her crew of ex-Chanter garrison renegades on board the stolen Suncurl. He and his kin sought the return of the Toll's City treasury as well as bloody revenge. They caught sight of the Suncurl just as its shaken and savaged crew finished dealing with the dual threats of a murderous lich and six demonic statues.[11]

In The Wurms of BlearmouthEdit

The Unreasoning Vengeance clashed with the Suncurl in a terrific battle during a rainstorm. The already damaged Suncurl wrecked on a reef near Spendrugle and Tiny and the remaining Chanters pursued the few survivors into town. Tiny was ready to kill everyone in Spendrugle in order to sate his vengeance.[12] The Chanters planned to begin their murder spree at the King's Heel tavern, but were convinced to sit down for a meal by proprietor Feloovil Generous.[13] When the tavern was attacked by Red, the D'ivers lizard cat, a wild melee erupted. Flea and Lesser Chanter and many tavern regulars were killed before Tiny beheaded Witch Hurl.[14] The Chanters then made their way to Wurms Keep to murder the town's lord. There they came upon the deadly demonic cookies baked by the necromancer Bauchelain. It was not revealed which Chanters may have eaten the treats and perished.[15]

In Crack'd Pot TrailEdit

Tiny, Flea, Midge, and Relish Chanter joined a caravan travelling along the Cracked Pot Trail in order to pursue Bauchelain and Korbal Broach. When the caravan ran out of food and started killing and butchering their fellow travelers, Tiny happily participated. He enjoyed tormenting the group of artists chosen to be sacrificed for the caravan's meals and delighted in making them perform in competition for the right to live another day.[16] When the Nehemothanai knights questioned his claim to be a necromancer, Tiny killed Sellup with a gesture, then animated her corpse. He later killed Calap Roud with his fist when it appeared the writer had slept with Tiny's sister, Relish.[17] Suspecting that the carriage of Dantoc Calmpositis actually contained Bauchelain and Broach, Tiny and his brothers attacked. The carriage went out of control, dragging the brothers over a cliff. Flea and Midge appeared to die on the rocks below, but Tiny's body was not found.[18]

In The Fiends of NightmariaEdit

Tiny was one of the ultimate survivors of the dire events of the Crack'd Pot Trail who arrived safely at the city of Farrog. Sometime near the conclusion of the 'Festival of Flowers and Sunny Days' - Tiny was arrested on the orders of the new King of Farrog, the usurper, regicide, and necromancer, Bauchelain the First. Tiny (together with six other Cracked Pot Trail survivors - i.e., Apto Canavalian, Brash Phluster, Flea Chanter, Midge Chanter, Steck Marynd, and Tulgord Vise) was taken to a torture chamber in the crypts of the Royal Palace of Farrog. There, the seven survivors were tortured - in rotation - on the rack by the Royal Torturer, Binfun...with far worse in the offing.[19] Luckily, these particular prisoners, including Tiny, were able to escape with the aid of Shartorial Infelance, the Royal Palace's Seneschal,[20][21] and were soon wandering the crypt tunnels.[22]

At one point, Tiny and the others had a mayhem-filled encounter with a group of thieves - the 'Party of Five' - who were also wandering the tunnels for reasons of their own.[23] After some badly-needed healing at the Royal Apothecary,[24][25] Apto Canavalian and Brash Phluster left the others and set off, individually,[26] while the others, including Tiny, continued on together.[27]

The remaining five escaped prisoners, including Tiny, found their way to the Throne Room of the Royal Palace...where they hoped to find King Bauchelain and Korbal Broach. Entering the Throne Room, the group encountered the Demon Prince, Prince Flail Their Limbs...just leaving, and an Enthroned Demonic Mouse ensconced on the Throne. Due to an inadvertent action on the part of the escaped prisoners, a cascade of unexpected disasters were unleashed.[28][29] The ultimate fate of Tiny and the others was not given.
