Tufty was a dead white cat.

In Toll the Hounds[]

Early in the Gedderone Fête, the retired Bridgeburners residing at K'rul's Bar were struck hard by the Assassins' Guild of Darujhistan, Picker and Antsy were at a loss at how to respond. Antsy suggested they go to the Finnest House to get in touch with Ganoes Paran and get his advice. Raest reluctantly brought them inside and agreed to help in return for a modest request of his own. He took them to one of the House's upper floors which allowed Picker to reach out to Paran through the Deck of Dragons. But the Jaghut warned that if her willpower was not strong enough, the Deck would leave her a drooling wreck. Picker was indeed left comatose when a presence within the Deck attempted to consume her soul. While Antsy worried his friend, Raest revealed the price for his help to the incredulous Bridgeburner--a dead white cat.[1]

On the last night of the Gedderone Fête, Baran and Pallid fought in the city streets, collapsing the Warden Barracks where Barathol Mekhar was held prisoner. Chaur rescued Barathol from Pallid's attack, but the ersatz Hound of Shadow broke Chaur's body. Antsy convinced Barathol to bring the dying man to Finnest House where time would stand still until they could find a healer. While passing through the streets near Baruk's Estate, Antsy discovered the body of a dead cat and brought it with them. Raest at first thought to deny them use of the House, until Antsy produced the cat the Jaghut had asked for.[2]

Raest named the cat "Tufty".[3]

Trivia[]

Raest was later shown to possess a dead cat named Fluffy. It was unclear if Tufty and Fluffy were the same animal.[4]
