Vorlock Duven was the Commander of the Karasch Legion, under the overall leadership of Dessimbelackis, the Emperor of the Human First Empire. Her Legion included seventy-four Gral warriors led by the veteran Sidilack.

According to Gral lore, as remembered by Taralack Veed, two months before the 'Great Fall' of the Crippled God, in the southwest wastes of what was to become the continent of Seven Cities, Vorlock Duven sent her Gral warriors, under Sidilack, into the forbidding Tasse Hills to initiate the conquest and subjugation of the indigenous Tasse people who were thought to rule the area. Vorlock had chosen to use the Gral for this first strike because they were more adept at fighting in untamed, hilly, forested country than would be her regular soldiers.[1]
