Wax witches were minor magic users who used candles as their primary medium. They were thought to have been purged by Laseen.
In Gardens of the Moon[]
Tattersail was involved in their purge from the Mouse Quarter of Malaz City. Adjunct Lorn was a young girl in the Mouse Quarter when it was purged. Ganoes Paran was in Mock's Hold while the Mouse Quarter was purged.
Rigga, an old wax witch possessed Sorry/Apsalar and was likely the reason she was able to retain her sanity after being possessed by Cotillion.
In Kellanved's Reach[]
The wax witch, Rose, used her candles to heal Janelle. In the process she took years from Janelle's life candle and lengthened her own. Afterwards, the blind and wizened wax witch regained her sight and appeared around middle age.[1]
